The aim of the paper is to share the full transcript of an interview conducted with Oksana Boruszenko, a Ukrainian citizen brought to Brazil by her parents at the end of World War II. Boruszenko graduated in History from the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) in the 1960s. Shortly after, she earned her Ph.D. from the Ludwig Maximilian Universität in Munich, Germany. Upon her return to Brazil, she taught at the UFPR, focusing most of her research as a historian on Ukrainian immigration. She also became one of the 30 founding members of the Sociedade Brasilera de Pesquisa Histórica (SBPH). Throughout her narratives, the historian seeks to make sense of the experiences of her memories about her life in Ukraine, immigration, and her professional choices.
