The paper is a testimony about the relations of Oscar Dias Correa, a university professor, congressional representative and minister of the Supreme Federal Court judge, with the Brazilian Historical and Geographical Institute (IHGB). We highlight the role he attributed to the institution and the negotiations for the donation to the IHGB of the UDN archives and the building where the party’s headquarters were located in Rio de Janeiro.
